Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality aims to obtain the most important squares of the city through the competition. In this context, Bakırköy Square is among the squares opened to the competition as one of the most important and problematic urban spaces of Istanbul's recent history. With its proposed project, KAAT proposes to transform the railroad, which divides the city into two, into an advantageous urban element, and the underground bazaar, which has now become idle, into a museum under the title of an underground notes exhibition to keep alive generous history of the city.
