Referandum for Bakırköy Urban Design Competition has started!
Oct 19, 2020
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality aims to obtain the most important squares of the city through a series of competitions. In this context, Bakırköy Square is among the squares opened to the competition as one of the most important and problematic urban spaces of Istanbul's recent history. KAAT proposes to transform the railroad, which divides the city into two, into an advantageous urban element, and the underground bazaar, which has now become idle, into a museum under the title of an underground notes exhibition to keep alive the generous history of the city.
The second phase of the project, which will be democratically achieved at the end of the jury vote, the administration vote, and the people's vote, started today with the public voting.
